Map     Satellite

Located on the flood plain of the Tule River some 5 kilometers (3 miles) west of the Success Dam, this reserve supports an open riparian community. Cottonwood, Populus fremontii, and sycamore, Platanus racemosa, are scattered along the channel. The undergrowth is primarily willows, Salix sp., wild grape, Vitis californica, and some Baccharis sp.

The higher ground consists of grassland, with exotics dominant.

Wildlife is typical of the region. There is a great blue heron, Ardea herodias, rookery here.

Integrity: The grassland has been highly disturbed. There is a nature trail on the reserve.

Use: Research, educational, observational.
