Perennial, from bulbs, stems 8–16" (2–4 dm).
Stems branched, generally wavy, ± sprawling; basal leaves 1–2, withering.
Flowers white, lilac-tinged, without dark blotch.
Blooming April–May.
Dry stony slopes, desert hills and mesas, creosote-bush or sagebrush scrub.
Elevation 2000–5600' (600–1700 m).
Desert Province.
