Perennial; leaves 4–28" (2–7 dm) long, ¼–1" (6–25 mm) wide.
Flowers white with green or purple midvein; opening in the evening, closing by the next morning.
Blooming May–July.
Open grassland, chaparral, woodland.
Elevation < 4950' (1500 m).
Northwestern California, Sierra Nevada, Great Central Valley, Central Western California, Southwestern California.
