Flowers yellow to cream (var. penduliflora) or white to pink (var. rosea).
Blooming April–July.
Dry, open slopes, especially after burns or disturbance.
Elevation < 7200' (2200 m).
Northwestern California, Sierra Nevada, Great Central Valley, Central Western California, Southwestern California, Great Basin Province (east of Sierra Nevada), Desert Province.
