Annual, 1–24" (2–60 cm).
This common, long-lived, ill-scented, freely branching annual has exceedingly brittle, succulent stems.
Flowers white (rarely yellow) with a yellow center.
Blooming February–June.
Desert plains, washes, crevices of cliffs and among boulders on dry slopes.
Elevation < 3300' (1000 m).
Southwestern California (uncommon), Desert Province.
